Provincie Noord Holland

The Dutch Province of North Holland is active in the Port of Amsterdam. The organization has its seat in Haarlem, the capital of the province. Provinces form the regional administrative layer between the national government and the municipalities. They deal with subjects for which the national government is too large and individual municipalities too small. Many topics relate to spatial planning, traffic and transport, regional economy, environment, recreation, nature and landscape, well-being and culture.
