Bin2Barrel specializes in the processing of plastics to low-sulfur diesel oil. The polluted plastics normally end up at landfills or in waste incineration plants, two solutions that have negative impacts on the environment. Based on new technology, the company allows the non-recyclable plastics a meaningful second use.
The innovation drastically reduces the emission of carbon dioxide, both during recycling and diesel combustion. As an alternative for first-generation biofuels, Bin2Barrel's diesel does not compete with the food chain. The fuel is used in the shipping industry. Every year about 20,000 tons of plastics is converted to about 19 million liters of diesel.
