Westpoort Warmte B.V. is a joint venture of Nuon Warmte and AEB Amsterdam. Nuon Warmte manages heating networks in various cities, including Amsterdam. AEB is a waste processing company and part of the municipality. The organization processes waste and operates two waste incineration plants in the port area. Residual heat is released during combustion.
The cooperation between Nuon and AEB allows the partners to supply this residual heat to homes and businesses in parts of the city. At least 73,000 housing equivalents have already been connected to it.
