Renewi Icova specializes in collecting, cleaning, transport and processing of waste streams in the Dutch provinces of Noord-Holland, Utrecht and Flevoland. It rents various types of waste containers to businesses and individuals, and regularly collects their contents. The company has an annual capacity of around 15 million tons of waste, of which 90 percent is recycled or used for energy recovery. The latter is done by its subsidiary Icopower, which Amsterdam facility produces fuel pellets from high-calorific waste components.
Renewi Icova is the merger company of Shanks of Britain and Van Gansewinkel of the Netherlands. The organization has over two hundred branches in nine countries.
