Quatra
Quatra specializes in collecting and processing of used cooking oils and organic waste. The grease and waste are collected from more than 35,000 catering establishments, industries, clubs and pubs. The cooking oils are then processed into second-generation biodiesel, the use of which limits the need for fossil fuels and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
The collected organic waste is processed into green electricity and residual heat. This adds up to some 100,000 tons of waste per year, originating from restaurant kitchens, supermarkets and the like. The company also provides catering companies and institutions in the food industry a service to empty and clean their grease traps. Quatra took over ROTIE, that was founded in 1950.
