The Police Academy is the center for education, knowledge and research for the Dutch national police. Here, both new and experienced agents are taught the tricks of the trade. These include basic training, as well as trainings in crisis management, law enforcement, leadership and investigation. The students must take exams at the location.

The organization’s objective is to promote professionalism and learning capacity of both the organization and individual police officers. The Police Academy has two tasks: (1) development and execution of police education and (2) development of knowledge about the police and its task. The organization provides education at ten locations throughout the Netherlands.
