As the company name suggests, Biodiesel Amsterdam (BDA) produces biodiesel from waste fats and oils. The company’s annual capacity totals some 125 million liters of second-generation biodiesel. The fuel is suitable for all diesel engines. Compared to conventional diesel, this fuel emits almost 92 percent less carbon dioxide and usually delivers better engine performance. In contrast to first-generation biodiesel, it does not compete with the food chain for its production. Remaining by-products are converted into end products such as biological heating oil, fertilizer and glycerine.

BDA is part of Simadan Group, which focuses on the processing of organic waste materials into biofuels and other bioproducts.
