Argent Energy is a group of logistics companies and is involved in the collection, processing and upgrading of organic waste streams. The products are processed into second-generation biodiesel, biogas, bio fuel oil, bioglycerine and bio-fertilizer. In this way, the company contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide (CO2).
In the Port of Amsterdam Argent Energy operates a state-of-the-art processing facility, with a storage capacity of around 110,000 tons. The fermentation process converts 100,000 tons of organic waste into some 20 million cubic meters of biogas with an energy equivalent of nearly 16 million Nm3 of natural gas. This leads to a saving of more than 28 kilotonnes of CO2 per year. In addition, 125 million liters of biodiesel are produced annually.
