Albemarle Catalysts Company B.V.

Albemarle is an American supplier of specialty chemicals, specializing in the production of lithium, bromine, refining catalysts and applied surface treatments. Lithium is widely used in batteries, whereas bromine is often used for fire safety and high-tech cleaning. Many customers are active in industries like energy, communications, transport and electronics. Pharmaceuticals and chemical companies also use Albemarle products.

The Amsterdam location of Albemarle is focused on research and production of catalysts for the petrochemical industry. The catalysts allow crude oil to be processed into high-quality fuels such as petrol, diesel and kerosene. The location consists of three production facilities and some supporting departments. Some 500 people work at the site.
